What’s Your Business Style?

It's not an easy question to answer. It may not be rocket science but it is complex. Or is it? In the broadest sense there are really only two choices:

1) You are chasing the brass ring, the shiny object of all shiny objects. Your objective is profit, as much as possible, and your own personal wealth over all else -- over everything, and everyone, else! Success, and the wealth that means so much, seems to elude you.

or,

2) You believe a business transaction should be fair, win-win, of equal benefit to both parties. You practice sustainable commerce as much as possible and you engage in true spiritual, or inbound, marketing. And wealth -- more wealth -- seems to find its way to you because of it!

You may not yet use the terms sustainable commerce, spiritual marketing, or inbound marketing, but your actions and activities embrace them anyway. You think about, care about, your impact on the world around us and you are concerned about the future. You believe that running your business from a place of positive flow, love, and spirit, is better than from the negative of doubt, hesitation, and fear.

Well, OK, at least that is where you want to be! But what about the money?

If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."
- Lewis Carroll

The term Spiritual Marketing was made popular by Joe Vitale in 2001, in his book by the same name and, later, he expanded on the concept in The Awakened Millionaire in 2016. It is built on a concept that has probably been around since the first honest business commerce transaction was made. It's not at all about religion, though religious persons can readily participate.

Spiritual marketing, and a sustainable business model, doesn't mean you can't make money. In fact, it's not about the amount of money you make at all. It is, instead, about you. About what goes on inside you. How you look out upon the world around you. How you respond to, and treat, others. It is about who you are, not just what you do. And the money follows.

In modern times, the idea was first codified by the New Thought Movement in the 1800's but really came into being in the early part of the twentieth century in the writings of William Walker Atkinson (Thought Vibration - 1906), Wallace Wattles (The Science of Getting Rich - 1919) and, most especially, Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich - 1937). These are amazing books you really should read today.

Thought Vibration - Long before Rhonda Byrne discovered the secret that positive thoughts are like powerful magnets attracting health, wealth, and happiness, William Walker Atkinson was an influential member of the New Thought movement and was one of the first people to write about the Law of Attraction.

Think and Grow Rich - This is one of the best selling books of all time and is most certainly worth reading today. In it, Napoleon Hill states this very important truth:

What the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve!"
- Napoleon Hill

The Science of Getting Rich - This book is the basis for the powerful 2006 documentary, The Secret, a film which speaks to the concept of the Law of Attraction, something you are putting into practice each and every day, whether you know it or not!
