Text From MS Word
MS Word is a “word processor” and it just happens that this is the worst way to work with text you wish to move between different programs, eg: text that you copy/paste to your website. It’s great for typing letters or novels and printing them or sending them to some place that expects Word documents but it’s not the best for creating content for other purposes.
However, with that in mind, WordPress created a special entry form to handle text you copy and paste from MS Word. You need to use the Visual editor — there are two tabs, Visual and HTML at the top right of the editor box on either the “add new” page or “add new” post editors. Be sure to select “Visual first.
In the Visual editor, click the “kitchen sink” button — the one with three rows of little boxes in it, near the right edge of the top row of tool buttons at the top of the editor box. This opens up an additional row (or rows) of buttons. You will see one near the middle of the second row that is a clipboard with a “W” in a little box on it. Click this to open up the Word text box and paste your text there then click the “insert” button at the bottom right.
This should add your text correctly to the editor where you can then arrange and style it using the tool buttons as necessary. If you use HTML and need to add some, switch back to the HTML tab.
